What type of photography do you do? We are husband + wife wedding photographers, Jason + Heather Barr. We specialize in working together to tell the story of your wedding day. Our work is a mix of artistic fine art photography and photojournalism, telling the story of your day and capturing beauty through the lens with a mix digital and film photography. Based in North Carolina, specializing in destination weddings in Western North Carolina and beyond.

What is your photographic style? Our work is a mix of artistic fine art photography and photojournalism, telling the story of your day and capturing beauty through the lens with a mix digital and film photography. Many people often say that our photography has an editorial style. We love photographing the wedding day details and feel that it's super important to capture them so that we can paint the picture of your day as a whole.

Why do you shoot a mix of digital and film photography? While we do primarily shoot digital, there are cases where we feel that film photography really shines, and so we love to use film in those cases. When we shoot film, we have a few different cameras that we use - 35mm, medium format film cameras, and from to time we like to use some vintage film cameras. Right now, if one of us is shooting film, the other is shooting digital, especially for weddings. Film takes a couple of weeks to process, we send it off to the lab to process and scan, and then we'll get the film scans uploaded to your gallery and also include along with the digital images on your USB Collection.

They were the first wedding vendor we booked, and they checked in with us often to make sure that everything was going well. They even stepped in as semi-wedding planners for us a few times, such as by providing me with a personalized wedding day photo timeline that saved me a HUGE headache with planning and logistics! I had no clue when our “getting ready” photos should start, when we should all migrate to the church for photos, etc… but these two are true professionals who know exactly what they're doing, and they were such a huge help! Plus, on top of their fantastic work, Heather and Jason are just fun, kind, and generous people who are a blast to hang out with on your wedding day! As we moved from the ceremony to the more posed pictures they were extremely professional and corralled the increasingly chaotic groomsmen, bridesmaids and family members up and got us to stand still long enough to capture the rare moments that all of these people were located in the same place. Throughout the reception Heather and Jason faded into the crowd once again and caught every thing we could have wanted. They worked to immortalize our special day and far exceeded any expectation we might have had. There was a small delay in receiving our photos, but they communicated with us, and gave us small teasers during the editing process, letting us know that even though they were incredibly busy, we were still a priority. I personally hate being photographed alone. I am typically really uncomfortable and that shows in my pictures. Heather was able to get me to relax and I couldn't be happier with the shots she got of me alone. I don't think I have ever looked more happy/comfortable in a photo.

Another thing I loved about these two is that they are super helpful on the actual wedding day. They also are not pushy at all, but keep things moving so you don't have to worry. They have a way of completely disappearing yet being right by your side when you need them for anything. I feel like I didn't even notice the cameras all day.
