"How to Have an Epic Ceremony Exit" - by Revival Photography NC Wedding Photographers Destination Wedding Photographer www.revivalphotography.com

This month on the blog, it's all about the wedding ceremony...ways to personalize, unique location ideas, how to know what time to have the ceremony, and how to prevent cellphones from completely taking over your wedding ceremony photos....

Today it's all about the ceremony exit, and how to make your ceremony exit epic. We've seen it all, we've photographed it all, and we have seen some beautiful ceremony exits that are so full of joy and celebration. Makes such a difference in the photos!

  • Ask your officiant to ask your guests to stand as you exit as husband + wife after the ceremony. It often looks a bit awkward in photos if guests are still seated as the couple exits.

  • Give your guests something to toss as you exit, confetti, bubbles, birdseed, lavender, ribbon wands. Think of it as the "grand exit"... the joy, emotions, sense of celebration and complete giddiness are so much fun to capture in photos, and guests love it!

  • Ask your guests (via announcement, wedding website, signs, or assign someone to nicely remind guests before the ceremony begins) to put away their cameras and cell phones during the ceremony, especially during the entrance and exit. We have seen SO many photos ruined because someone held their cell phone/ipad/camera in the way and it took so much away from the moment. Many people don't realize they are in the way, even if they think they are being discrete, it can cause a distraction or take away from the professional photographer's shot. Celebrate with the bride + groom! When they look back on photos, they'll want to see your faces, celebrating as you watch them exit as husband + wife, not a cell phone or camera in front of your face creating separation between you and the moment, because that's really what is happening.

What is your favorite ceremony exit idea or piece of advice? Have you seen anything epic? We would love to hear your ideas, so share in the comments below! :)

xoxo
