"We chose Castle Ladyhawke for a couple reasons - we love the mountains of North Carolina and so that was a priority.  And we just loved Castle Ladyhawke because it felt as if you had traveled back in time to England or Scotland.  And it was so wonderful to find a place where everyone could just spend the night and not have to worry about traveling home at the end of the night." - Lindsey and Daniel

"One of the advantages of having such a small intimate wedding is you really can do things exactly as you want and not have to worry about having 150 of everything. So I had a ton of fun making and buying everything for the wedding. We didn't end up having to rent anything other than the tables and chairs.  It was like a giant craft project for me and my friends ; ) " - Lindsey

"I wanted Dan to have a boutonniere that he liked - so we picked out one on Etsy (by seller GlamMKE) that was made from old X-men comic books." - Lindsey

"It was so fun to see how much fun the kids had - because we were staying the night at the castle they were really able to explore all the different rooms and it was so magical for them . . . and the adults also!" - Lindsey

"I love the Great Hall and wanted our dinner to really feel like a medieval feast - we had the caterers do family style so that we were all passing the food around versus being served. And I went a bit crazy in terms of the place settings - I really wanted to have authentic feeling plates and glasses - but you can't rent silver dishes - so I ended up buying all of the dishes off of ebay." - Lindsey

"I found a great vendor on Etsy that would create a customized digital monogram for us - with our initials and the date - and I was able to use that on so many things - like the base of the lego figures and the banner for the fireplace.  Pinterest has so many amazing ideas for any type of wedding you could ever think up!  And I am lucky to have such creative and dedicated family and friends to help pull everything together - as well as Julie (from Pinnacle Events) and Joy (from Castle Ladyhawke) to take all my ideas and things and arrange them in such a perfect way while I was getting ready." - Lindsey

"We created treasure boxes for each of the kids (since they were 10 of the 23 guests). And we created wedding wands and flower crowns as well.  I had a lot of fun making the lego placecards.  They were the perfect merging of the medieval theme and Dan's love of legos." - Lindsey

"The only thing that didn't really go with our whole theme was the Millenium Falcon cake but it was the perfect tie to Dan's proposal video and was so unique and special versus a typical wedding cake.  And Debi did such an amazing job on all the details!!" - Lindsey

"Heather and Jason were so good at making us completely comfortable when we were posing for pictures - and the rest of the time they just blended in and took amazing photos!  We are so happy with all of the pictures - they captured the day perfectly! Which is good cause it went by so quickly!!!  If we had to do it again I would not have done anything at all differently! Everything came out even better than we had envisioned!!" - Lindsey
